Day 8 - Magic Kingdom LAST DAY

Sad...it is our last day!
Magic Kingdom today, and Touring Plans had it as a 10/10 crowd level today! So we had to plan well and have our patience. We got there right at the end of the opening show.
We planned riding pirates first, but it was close (and it was closed off and on all day). So we instead go to Splash. We were right at the front of the little line and had to wait a little but for them to open, but it was was not that long, and totally worth it. After that we went to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. We were able to ride it two times in a row without even getting off!

 Pretty quiet morning
 Dead in Adventureland!
 Dead by Pirates!
Dead towards Splash and Big Thunder
Yup, she is tall enough for Splash!
 Sunrise over Magic Kingdom
First ride!  The water was splashing in my face!

Haunted Mansion

After that awesomeness we headed over to Haunted Mansion, which is ALWAYS my favorite! And then it was time for our FastPass for Splash Mountain!

Second time...

Luckily, the crowds sill at nothing so we were able to ride Aladdin's Carpets.

then headed over to Space Mountain for our FastPass. Rebekah did NOT like the fact that we could not sit side by side, but she did it anyway, but did not want to go on again.

 Park still quiet...
 Goofball

 She loved the big marble

See, I had to touch her the whole time...

Time to do something that is not too fast moving so we hopped on the Peoplemover, then got an ice cream and then wandered over towards Carousel of Progress then to the spray area for a little cool off.

"There's a great big beautiful tomorrow..."
 Cooling off!

Then off to Be Our Guest for our lunch. Even though it was a quick serve we had a reservation AND we ordered the food ahead of time.  If we do it again, we will totally pre-order again, saved SO much time!  For lunch I got the Croque Monsieur (Grilled Sandwich of Carved Ham and Gruyere Cheese and Bechamel with Pommes Frites ) John got the Carved Turkey Sandwich (Carved Turkey Sandwich served warm on a Baguette with Dijon Mayonnaise and Pommes Frites ) and Rebekah got the Whole-Grain Macaroni (Whole-Grain Macaroni with Marinara Sauce and Mozzarella served with Seasonal Vegetables). For dessert I got the Master's Cupcake (I like my Grey Stuff recipe better than this, actually) and John got the Strawberry Cream Cheese Cupcake (which was really good).

 Park getting fuller...

After Be Our Guest the park was PACKED! We went to Thunder Mountain for our FastPasses then headed to the resort for a break. We did a little swim. There was a sky writer doing some writing (“Trust God” and then “Jesus Saves...ask”), then we rested in the room for awhile and headed back to Magic Kingdom!

As we were walking down Main Street a family leaving gave us a paper FastPass that he was not going to use, usable on any ride! Disney Magic, so awesome!

She really did have a good time, I promise.

The park was still PACKED so we went to Space Mountain thinking we would use the paper FastPass, but Rebekah changed her mind. Instead we went to the first portal of Sorcerers of Magic Kingdom game, however the lines for it were long so we were only able to get one portal done.
Time for our favorite super, Liberty Tree! The food was great, like last time. Our server was funny, she seemed like she would do really well at 50's Prime Time instead of here, but she was good!

Liberty Tree Tavern - Dessert (was eh...)

After supper we went over to Hall of Presidents. During the show I realized that the next time we are at Disney there will be a new President up there in the show!
Then we decided to try to use the paper FastPass at Haunted Mansion but the FastPass line was INSANLY long and slow so we decided to head elsewhere. So we made our way over to the Tiki Room and then it was time for our FastPasses for Pirates of Caribbean.

The park was crazy crowded!

Time to head to the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party, I was looking forward to this all trip!
We got PERFECT seats for the party. The dessert buffet was great and the food and drink were awesome! John decided to go back to the room before the fireworks started (he is not much of a fireworks guy) and Rebekah and I stayed to close the park!

We were able to watch part of the Main Street Electrical Parade

We went to Space Mountain again to consider using the FastPass again but, again, decided against it. So Rebekah wanted to do the Tomorrowland Speedway so with a 10 minute standby time so did it! I always wonder if the cars can jump the track, with the way Rebekah was driving I was worried!

Thinning crowds

Then we decided to use the paper FastPass on the Mine Train since the stand by time was over 100 minutes all day long! When we got there the castmember read the pass and said to just use it again later when our whole family can ride (the pass was for 6 people)!

By the time we got off the Mine Train it had started raining. SO we headed towards Haunted Mansion for our final ride of the trip. LOVE IT! Always will!

Rover Boat from Haunted Mansion

On the way over to our next ride we were able to catch the second showing of the Main Street Electrical Parade.  Then we finally used the paper FastPass on Big Thunder Mountain. It is a MUCH different ride in the dark!

Then we went over to Splash Mountain and rode it two times in a row without even getting out of our log!

 Time three...
Time four!

By the time we got off Splash Mountain the park was closing and it was raining more, it was cold and windy, but SO beautiful. Rebekah and I took our time slowly walking out of the park and when we were at the end of Main Street we Watched the “Kiss Goodnight”, the final kicking us out of the park song and light show.

We crawled wet and cold into bed at 1:15am! SUCH and AWESOME end to this AWESOME trip!!

Steps walked: 33,549 (16.36 miles)

  1. A PERFECT last day! I rode BTMRR once on a very cold night in the dark and it was a wild (and super fun!) experience! One of my favorite Disney memories.
